I woke up refreshed and happy. I began my morning ritual with gusto breakfast, coffee, some chores followed by a walk by the sea. A thought crossed my mind: What a beautiful day!
And it seemed like that until I received a phone call. The kind that makes you drop everything in hands. It really shocked me. I found out that a friend of mine was diagnosed the previous day with cancer and as my worst fears came true, she was already in a critical phase and scheduled for operation the next day. I had observed fairly recently on her Facebook profile how much she was enjoying life and it seemed so unreal that something so dramatic had transpired in such a short time frame. Of course, I wish her my best and wish she will win this very challenging battle.
However, it made me pause and think. We don’t know what tomorrow may bring. I don’t mean to say that life always takes a turn for the worse. But, life does present us with its challenges. Would we consider living life differently given that the unexpected may happen anytime?! Would we do things differently? You know, the kind of things in life that we always postpone, for tomorrow, next month, or even next year. I am talking about those things that we can actually do today. How many times have you said to yourself: I would love to do this and I will definitely plan for next month or next year when I have more time. Don’t wait. Do it today if you can. Be the person that says ‘I did that and I enjoyed it’ instead of constantly living in If only I could world. For some things you might never have the means or the time to do them. Yet, there are things that you can.
Live your life. Make it happen now! I know my friend lived like this and she will continue her life in this direction. She has always amazed me with her determination to pursue her dreams. How many of us live today at its maximum?! Maybe the time you think you just don’t have now, it won’t be offered to you tomorrow. Maybe the health and energy that you have now, it won’t be so strong tomorrow. Maybe the beloved one that stands by you now won’t be there tomorrow. Maybe your favorite singer won’t have any more concerts or your favorite restaurant will close tomorrow. Maybe the country that you want to visit won’t be safe for traveling tomorrow. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. I know – too many possibilities!!! I don’t want to sound dire or negative, but the truth is we don’t know what tomorrow may bring. And if we don’t, would we not want to make the best of what today offers and create our own reality?!
As definitive and stern it may sound this is my belief and a shout out to you: Live now, as tomorrow has no guarantees.

"In hope of a world, that does not celebrate the fake & the cold
In hope of a world where true emotions can be uphold
In hope of a world where truth is told
In hope of the world where sugar coated abuses are not sold
In hope of a world that does not force you to fit in & fold
In hope of a world where tears are allowed to unfold
You are not told to fake happy when your heart can no longer hold
In the hope of a world that doesn’t go numb & cold,
While faking positivity & not being bold
In hope of that world where you & I can be true to our core
We are not judged for being human
And not expected to be a bot, running on a computer code
Let the beauty of true emotions and the warmth of real unfold
Sweet, sour, bitter, happy, sad, high, low, cold
Sincere bonds and true connects
Let us not turn the world into a fake emotion(less) zone"
